Con Dems scrap free swimming

It has been announced that free swimming has been scrapped by the Con Dem Government. The over 60's and under 16's had benefited from the the measure under the previous Labour Government.

Not only is this a disaster for people's health but a clear attack on the most venerable in our society. Nothing can be more important than teaching young people to swim and thousands of Manchester and Northenden residents had benefited from the measure.

In light of the fact we have a major river and a number of lakes in our community it will be interesting to see what our local Lib Dems have to say on the matter. Surely they cannot defend the indefensible?
