Well done Manchester City Council

Well free swimming had been withdrawn by this Con Dem Government but Labour Manchester has continued the scheme. It is becoming clear that the cuts are not just about tackling the banking deficit but an an ideological Tory agenda backed by Nick Clegg's Lib Dems to hurt some of the most vulnerable groups in our society.

Today Cllr Mike Amesbury and Manchester Labour took a stand in the interests of ordinary Mancunians to continue this popular and successful scheme. It is it not time the more sensible elements of the Lib Dems started to stand up for Northenden and Manchester in equal measure?
